I am pleased to share with you the 2007 Annual Report for the University of Chicago Department of Surgery. The theme of the report, Collaboration, highlights many of our comprehensive, multidisciplinary programs that span across specialties and departments and bring together our clinical practice, research portfolio and education programs.

This report provides a glimpse into the Department's energy and enthusiasm. In this past academic year, we have built strong momentum in the development of collaborative initiatives and significant achievements on many fronts.
