Breast Surgery

The University of Chicago Hospitals' Breast Center is dedicated to all women's breast health needs. The Center offers each woman a comprehensive care plan whether they are referred, or seeking a second opinion.

Patients coming to the Breast Center will be evaluated by specialists in diagnostic mammography and breast surgery. Other specialists at the Breast Center include cytopathologists, pathologists, cancer risk experts and physical therapists. Because of this multidisciplinary approach, a patient coming for a second opinion can have her mammogram results, biopsies, and treatment options discussed during a single visit. A treatment plan is then tailored to the individual patient's needs after discussion with our panel of experts including oncologists, radiation oncologists and plastic surgeons. This integrated approach allows the patient to make an educated decision about her care with the input from a collective team of experts.
