Welcome to the Section of Neurosurgery at The University of Chicago. We are devoted to the evaluation and treatment of both pediatric and adult neurosurgical disorders. The section has been divided into subspecialty programs to better identify expertise within neurosurgery. Our programs in neurovascular surgery, neuro-oncology, epilepsy, spinal surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, functional and stereotactic neurosurgery are world renowned. We utilize a full-range of neurosurgical technologies to provide the most up-to-date and effective treatment for the entire spectrum of neurological disease.

In addition to clinical expertise, the section is devoted to the teaching of medical students as well as to the post-graduate training of neurosurgeons at the resident and fellow level. The section maintains an active research program supported by both federal and non-federal/private grants.
