Welcome to the Section of Neurosurgery at The University of Chicago. We are devoted to the evaluation and treatment of both pediatric and adult neurosurgical disorders. The Section is composed of outstanding faculty who have developed subspecialty programs to better serve our patients with complicated neurological problems while conducting innovative research to advance our knowledge of the Neurosciences . Our programs in neuro-oncology, pediatric neurosurgery epilepsy, functional and stereotactic neurosurgery, neurovascular surgery, and spinal surgery are internationally prominent. We utilize a full-range of neurosurgical technologies to provide the most up-to-date and effective treatments for the entire spectrum of neurological disease.

In addition to clinical expertise, the section is devoted to the teaching of medical students as well as to the post-graduate training of neurosurgeons at the resident and fellow level. The Section maintains active research programs supported by both federal and non-federal/private grants.
