1. Providing compassionate and superior healthcare2. Advancing plastic surgery through research and innovation3. Training the futures leaders of plastic surgery in a collegial setting. The section of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center provides a broad range of surgical services to people suffering from the compromising effects of injury or disease as well as for those wishing to modify a certain physical feature. In most cases, the section's staff - comprised of plastic surgeons and other health care experts employ a multidisciplinary approach that addresses each patient's special needs.
Our plastic and reconstructive surgeons are well-educated and skilled in their respective areas of expertise. Each surgeon in the section has received preliminary training in general surgery followed by additional special training in plastic surgery. Several surgeons have completed post-graduate fellowships beyond their plastic surgery training in the areas of hand, craniofacial, and aesthetic surgery. All of our surgeons are either board-eligible or board-certified by the American Boards of Surgery and Plastic Surgery.
