Brain Tumor Research
Our physicians and scientists are developing new and exciting treatment strategies for brain tumors. Our research program focuses on new advances in drug delivery to the tumors of the central nervous system and on targeted gene therapy. We are looking at ways of stopping tumor growth by cutting off the blood supply to the tumor, replacing the corrupted genes, and delivering immunomodulatory genes, which can enhance the body's immune system and allow it to further fight the tumor. Due to our cancer programs’ effective solutions, it has attracted regional, national and international patients.
Members of the Brain Tumor Center currently participate in research protocols provided by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Eastern Oncology Consortium Group (ECOG), Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG), Cancer and Leukemia Group B (CALGB), and Children's Oncology Group. Each of our physicians is actively involved in translational research aimed at developing new therapies and quickly bringing them to the clinical setting. Specifically, our current research focuses on developing new brain tumor models, drug delivery, anti-angiogenesis therapy, immunotherapy, gene therapy, and radiotherapy of brain tumors.
We invite you to contact us to further discuss your individual needs and your eligibility for our clinical trials. Our goal is to translate the research which we are developing today into the therapies of tomorrow. Please contact us for more information at (773) 834-4757.
