Sports Fellowship

The University of Chicago Sports Medicine Fellowship is an ACGME accredited program. The purpose of the Sports Medicine Fellowship is to provide expertise in the evaluation and treatment of athletic trauma, on the field as well as office practice.  

The teaching curriculum is designed to provide a clear understanding of the mechanics of organizing and running a sports medicine program at the professional, university and high school levels, including participation in clinical research and basic science.

The fellow participates in the outpatient clinics and assist in surgery procedures, interact with certified athletic trainers, physical therapists and a primary care sports medicine specialist. The fellow's involvement will be inclusive of, but not limited to, clinical sports medicine program, team coverage for a National Hockey League team, 2 NCAA Division III private universities and an extensive high school network.  The fellow's teaching responsibilities include a weekly didactic sports medicine conference and clinical instruction of residents and students.
