Joshua Fernandes, MD Undergraduate: Tulane University Medical School: George Washington University School of Medicine Research: During medical school, Josh had the opportunity to live and work at the National Institutes of Health as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute-NIH Research Scholar. Under the mentorship of National Eye Institute Director Dr. Paul Sieving, Josh completed clinical as well as laboratory-based studies of inherited retinal dystrophies. Other experience: With an interest in international medicine, Josh spent a summer living in Guatemala and volunteering in rural health clinics. He has also spent many years advocating for the blind and visually imparied through his work with National Federation of the Blind. |
