Message from the Director
Dear Friends and Future Colleagues:
It is with great pleasure that I along with my partners welcome you to the University of Chicago’s Retina Service. Since 2005, it has been our pleasure to train exceptionally skilled vitreoretinal surgeons. Our Retina service has a long track record of patient care, advanced vitreoretinal surgery, research, and hands on teaching.
Along with providing world-class care for our patients, our passion for training the best vitreoretinal fellows is one of our primary objectives as academic physicians. Each of our attending physicians brings with them years of experience, skills and techniques that are passed onto our fellows each year. The diversity of training includes involvement in both office and operating rooms in the university and private practice setting. Our clinic locations across the Chicagoland area expose our fellows to a diverse spectrum of retinal diseases and provide a fulfilling experience. Along with obtaining excellent clinical and surgical skills, our fellows are educated in the economics of a retinal practice and learn the importance of efficacy in the operating room and in running a busy clinical practice. Furthermore, participation in clinical trials is emphasized in this fellowship.
I, along with my partners, am committed to fellowship training and will continue to strive to make our fellowship a great experience that yields excellent vitreoretinal surgeons for years to come.
