Vitreoretinal Fellowship

The Section of Ophthalmology & Visual Science offers a highly competitive two-year vitreoretinal fellowship program. The fellow receives extensive vitreoretinal surgical and medical retina experience.

Surgical and medical experience is balanced equally between the first and second year fellows to ensure excellent and comprehensive training. Research is strongly encouraged during the fellowship and fellows are expected to present a paper at one major vitreoretinal meeting (e.g., ASRS, Retina Society or Macula Society) per year.

Applying for the Fellowship

Please download the fellowship application and fill it out completely. Make sure you include a copy of your curriculum vitae.

Please note that we are asking three senior clinicians or scientists who know you personally to send recommendation letters. Please ask them to place your letter in a sealed envelope that you will submit together with the application. In this way you can be sure that letters have been sent.

We will only begin consideration of your application when it is complete. It is particularly important for us to receive from you a personal statement about you and your career goals and how this fellowship will fit into them.

The Application Deadline is August 31st.
