Female Urologic Surgery

Our surgeons are dedicated to patient-centered care and tailoring treatment plans for each individual patient. When appropriate, both surgeons utilize minimally invasive techniques. Some female urologic problems that we commonly treat are:

  • Urinary incontinence
  • Pelvic organ prolapse, or the protrusion of organs inside the pelvis towards the opening of the vagina
  • Overactive bladder, frequency of urination and urgency of urination
  • Neurogenic bladder, caused by disorders of the nervous system
  • Urinary retention, or difficulty with emptying the bladder
  • Interstitial cystitis and pelvic pain
  • Mesh complications

We understand that many women might feel uncomfortable discussing these problems or sharing their concerns with their doctor. Here at the University of Chicago, we strive to develop open and considerate relationships with our patients.
