UChicago Medicine has launched the BIOPSY NOW initiative, a new multidisciplinary program that provides same-day biopsies for highly suspicious breast cancers, eliminating the stressful wait times often experienced by patients after abnormal imaging results. This innovative approach—the first of its kind in the Chicago area—reflects a collaborative effort between Kirti Kulkarni, MD, Cristina O'Donoghue, MD, MPH, Shari Snow, MD, and Maryam Minhaj Siddiqui, MD, alongside the breast imaging team, to streamline the patient care pathway and enable faster treatment decisions.
