The University of Chicago Department of Surgery was proud to attend the 2025 Annual Medical Education Conference (AMEC) in St. Louis, MO. Hosted by the Student National Medical Association (SNMA), this event brought together future and current physicians from across the country to focus on academic excellence, clinical skill-building, and culturally competent care.
With this year’s theme—“Higher: Surpassing, Optimizing, Advancing and Reimagining our Purpose”—AMEC 2025 encouraged attendees to elevate their impact on medicine and community health. Our department was honored to connect with talented students, share our diversity and equity initiatives, and strengthen our programs.
